Anyone who has ever battled down the M5, along the M4 or around the M25 in the company of hordes of other would-be holidaymakers, will appreciate just how easy it is to get to the six counties of the East Midlands - Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. 

 

Getting here by train:

If you are travelling by train, visit the websites listed below for further information on rail operation for the East Midlands:

Getting here by road:

  • From London and the South: the M1 and A1 provide excellent links.
  • From the South West: the M5 and M42 provide links to the M1.
  • From Wales: use motorway connections from the M6 from North Wales and the M4 and M5 from South Wales.
  • From the West Midlands: the M42 takes you right into the heart of the East Midlands. 
  • From the North West: the M62 connects to the M1 and A1.
  • From the North East: the A1 and M1 serve as the main routes into the East Midlands.
  • From Scotland: access to the East Midlands is made easy via the A1 and M1.
